A welcome return to the Melodic Rock Outfit - BURN
The Global Warning album released during the summer in the UK has been receiving great reviews as it penetrates into the rock and metal scene. A brilliant review from www.melodicrock.com, the rock and metal web portal, Classic Rock magazine and Kerrang! has helped pushed the band's profile further and interviews in both Power Play and Fireworks Magazine (No.29) have helped the band reach new audiences and spread the word. Agreements are in place for the CD release into Europe (particularly Germany and Sweden) and Japan in the New Year. Excerpts from Melodic Rock.com: "Simply put, this is one of the best pure British melodic hard rock records in some time. Global Warning has a solid sound with a hard hitting rhythm section at the heart of things. I'm also really impressed with vocalist Jeff Ogden, a really powerful performance with a booming tenor voice. Powerful, melodic and featuring instantly catchy choruses. This is classic British melodic rock. Basically this is something you look and hope for in the melodic rock scene – an indie band with great songs, a great sounding record and a real possibility of keeping the scene alive with a very classy record." On the live front, Burn appeared over the summer at the Rock and Blues Show alongside the Scorpions and Michael Schenker and were blown away with the response of the crowd, delivering most of Global Warning and a handful of old favourites on what turned out to be a blistering day! - they are being lined up for a repeat performance at next years show and other festival appearances - watch this space! |

THE BLACK MOLLYS & MILLION DOLLAR RELOAD Admission £4.00 ADV £5.00 DOOR Tickets Available Ticket Hotline: 02476 347402

On one hand, The Black Mollys are good old fashioned American rock 'n rollers with an abundant serving of unshakable hooks, remarkably contagious choruses and soaring harmonies. But dig a little deeper and the Chicago based trio's sound is simultaneously loaded with alternative rock elements of today, from charging power chords to high voltage percussion to just the right amount of attitude and unbridled confidence that still steers clear from pretentiousness. It's a carefully crafted brew that's been consistently refined on the road throughout the 2000s thus far, chiseled across tour dates supporting a wide swath of influential artists as diverse as Goo Goo Dolls, Cheap Trick, Gin Blossoms and David Lee Roth (just prior to his highly anticipated reunion with Van Halen). And on record, that chemistry continues to be apparent, starting with 2007's aptly titled The First One (High Def Records), which earned comparisons to the lauded likes of David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Queen and Butch Walker straight out of the gate. And fresh for 2008 (on the same label), the band's Ignorance Is Bliss builds upon those substance-filled songs even further, backed by mastering at the Beatles' legendary Abbey Road Studios, and mixed under the veteran direction of Michael Wagener ( Ozzy, Queen, Metallica and many more). Those ensuring sessions not only seamlessly merge vintage and contemporary explosions, but concurrently serve up the most relatable elements of heartland rock and artfully generated aggression. As The Black Mollys load up the buses for a full-fledged tour of America, plus extensive runs through Europe, Asia and even Australia, fans can expect the ultimate celebratory experience that breeds instantaneous sing-a-longs through tongue-in-cheek tunes like "Erica" and "Girlfriend" or the equally compelling pop culture references "I'm So Ordinary" and "Hollywood." It's indeed an ambitious formula that's thus far found fanfare across limitless demographics and culture lines, subsequently bringing an instant elixir to life's stresses, strains and seriousness with an unabashedly positive party. 'Million Dollar Reload' are a 5-piece rock band based in Northern Ireland. They have been called 'one of the hardest working, hardest rocking bands the country has ever seen'. Formed in 2005 they immediately began writing their own material. Phil Conalane, Kie McMurray and Andy Mack began the writing process in the late summer of that year and during this time 'Superslave', 'Degeneration' and 'Give It All' were penned. With the help of drummer Davy Cassa and guitarist B.A.M., the band hit Manor Park Studios and recorded the now out-of-print 1st 3- track E.P., the self-titled 'Million Dollar Reload' containing the afore mentioned songs. The band name itself was taken from the song 'Give It All' - a song about two aggressors piting their wits against each other in a poker game - "...no everything's not all right, I need a million dollar reload..." A 'Reload' being a poker term for a buy-in. Each band member had previously played and toured extensively in various different cover bands with the exception of Davy who had previously toured with Irish heavy-metal band 'Sinocence'. During Christmas 2005 the band played their first live show together to tremendous reviews so when 2006 rolled in the band were on top form and began working on new material. They soon had over 11 songs and were ripping up Belfast and Dublin with their live show. Their reputation had spread over the country and M$R landed top support slots with Alice Cooper, Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N' Roses) & Danny Vaughn (ex-Tyketto/Waysted). Million Dollar Reload hit the studio once again in autumn 2006 and their debut album 'Anthems of a Degeneration' was recorded. This 15-track rock masterpiece is due for release 27th February 2007 on the Bulletproof 20/20 Records label. Now its time for M$R to really shine. M$R believe in no frills, straight up Rock & Roll, and have a great time showing it! So come along, check 'em out and you will guaranteed one hell of a show! "This is a wheelie-bin boogie of the trashiest order" - Classic Rock Magazine "...a debut album that is no filler and all killer is a hell of a way to start a career" hardrockhouse.com "The five guys have really made an album to be proud of..." hairmetalireland.com "Dirty…sleazy…bluesy…infectious...catchy...anthemic...drink friendly .…smoking ban defying. That's what this album is...All in all, my advice. Buy this album." imarocker.com "Best debut from 2007? Anthems Of A Degeneration very well could be...anyway, time for me to get a Million Dollar Reload right now!" sleazeroxx.com "...A beautiful one, thumbs up!" roxxzone.com |

SLIPNOT (SLIPKNOT TRIBUTE) Admission £6.00 Tickets Available Ticket Hotline: 02476 347402

'Slipnot' made their debut appearance to Stourbridge at the Rock Caf..
2000 and despite not being 'your typical fan' I couldn't resist
checking them out. With 9 members I was a little concerned about them
all fitting onto the rock caf.. stage and as the set progressed of it
actually holding up to the abuse it was taking in this energetic stage
show! However all concerns soon left my mind as I watched 'Slipnot' and
their captive audience lose their minds.
Although a seemingly organic stage show 'Slipnot' have seriously done their homework in producing a likeness to Slipknot not only in image but also in mannerisms, inter-band relationships and interaction on stage with considered and considerable audience participation. The masks likeness is unbelievable as indeed is the ability for the whole 'cast/band' to perform with such energy in them all night. This however is an example of 'Slipnot's' real professionalism. Musically 'Slipnot' are technically sound and present a really accurate likeness to Slipknot. Front man 'Corey Taylor' owns the stage. He never 'leaves his character' and has everything from the more complex vocals of 'Wait and Bleed' to the screaming/growling "Come on you mother f**kers" perfected in a believable enough American accent. It is refreshing to see all other members working so hard together too. This is not an act where the front man is the only one doing the 'entertaining'. Slipnot all work really hard both together and individually to put on such a tight performance and entertaining stage show. This show (as I believe is the case with Slipknot shows) is a really interactive experience. I personally did not enter the 'mosh pit' of fans down the front of the stage but unaccustomed as I am to this kind of environment the vibe was actually really good. Everyone seemed to be having a great time (and the place was pretty full) whether enjoying the music or just having an excuse to run into each other with full force!? 'Slipnot' go some way to proving that if you appreciate a good and well constructed stage show you cannot help but be impressed and enjoy the performance; whatever you may think of the music! |
THE BEETROOT KINGS are a Mansfield based five piece folk/rock/indie
band who formed in May 2007. Gary Armstrong lead singer, guitarist and
songwriter in THE BEETROOT KINGS states, "Its taken a lot of hard work
to find the right musicians to build a band with as the stuff i write
isnt exactly mainstream (at the minute!!!) I met Dan Booth 7 years ago,
he was playing fiddle in warsop based band FEROCIOUS DOG, I was
fronting ollerton based band MILE HIGH MOVER. Ever since we've met up
regularly and jammed ideas and songs. He fits so well into what i
write. Since the creation of the band we have seen some line up
changes, all necessary in ensuring the right musicians are brought
together to do the material justice. Luckily we live within a very
musical environment and the rest of the line up are all local lads with
a passion for the music we have produced. A combination of Bluey on
bass, Ben on drums and Graham on guitar all compliment the material and
has given a raw powerful and infectious sound to the songs created by
Gary with the creative input of Dan. The sound and style is unique yet
palatable to just about any music enthusiast and thus the band has
gained a strong following. So now it is for you to listen and hopefully
love what we have done and will continue to do. THE CALLING E.P is the
first studio release from THE BEETROOT KINGS, They are currently
finishing off thier first album which will be self released in august.
Keep an eye on the gig dates to see when THE BEETROOT KINGS will be
playing THE CALLING e.p and songs from the new album IT IS I...LE'
CLARE plus there extensive back catalogue at a venue near you.
See you all at the gigs....

You can call it Hard Rock, Heavy Rock, Biker Rock, Classic Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Sleazy Rock, Hippy-Trippy-Folk Rock, Garage Rock, Punk Rock…
Whatever, it still ROCKS! Which is exactly what G M T do best. Effortlessly, in fact. On the surface, a simple three-piece, yet the pedigree of the members is unbeatable: Bernie Tormé – Guitar God/ Psychedelic Shredmeister/ Glam Punk Sleaze Rock Frontman. Universally known for heroically stepping in & saving the day for Ozzy Osbourne, when Randy Rhoads tragically died, world tours & international fame as lead axe-man in Gillan; also forming the nucleus of Desperado with Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider & ex Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr, as well as fronting his own bands Electric Gypsies/ Torme (with Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns/ Girl fame), Bernie is renowned for bringing his punk vibe to the arenas. He's also an Irish nutcase. John McCoy – Lead Bass/ Living Legend/ Larger Than Life. Quite frankly who John hasn't played with, written for, or produced over the years isn't worth writing about! A small few include Gillan, Mammoth, Samson, Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), U.K. Subs, Atomic Rooster, Sun Red Sun etc etc. A man mountain with a huger sound, it should also be known that John McCoy has played on over 50 albums...! It's a similar story with UK powerhouse drummer Robin Guy, drumming since he was a glint in his Father's eye, a quick credit check reveals rhythmical involvement with such names as: Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Faith No More, Lars Frederiksen (Rancid), Casey Chaos (Amen), The Business, Rachel Stamp, All About Eve, Martin Grech, SackTrick, Adam Ant, & many more! His day job has included headlining Wacken Open Air to 40,000 metalheads, surviving 55 shows in 60 days in the U.S., & playing festivals in Belgium and Essex...on the same day! Robin's loud, obnoxious style helps him fit perfectly between Bernie's wit, and John's charm, in fact you could say G M T is a three-way marriage gone horribly right! Bernie: "Frankly it was going to take something really big to get me off my lazy arse and into the studio. John and Robin and G M T are that really big thing. G M T is big, loud, raw, rough, real, exciting, delicate, and unbelievably heavy. We're recording it just as it is: we don't need no stinking 1000 overdubs to create that wall of sound, we just play." John: "We popped out for a couple of shows, to test the material and word got out – a bunch of fans flew over from Denmark to see the show – seeing as how Bernie & myself haven't been on stage together since '81, we knew this had to be special. The Danish fans also brought their 50 albums for me to sign… I was happy to oblige!" Robin: "The first time I met Bernie Tormé & John McCoy, I was recording some session in Bernie's studio and we just clicked right away - the music, the style, the rock n' roll, the humour & vibes were right for one another (not to mention the free flowing Jamesons…). Or maybe we are the only people that can put up with each other... either way, the end result, for what we have achieved in a very short space of time speaks for itself! This album is gonna turn heads, as well as makin 'em bang!" |

101%PANTERA are a tribute act currently on tour in the uk to great acclaim. Formed in late April 2007, and on the road by the end of June the same year, the band graduated quickly to the larger rock and metal venues and have built a large following through relentless gigging. 101%Pantera are dedicated to reproducing the live energy of a Pantera show to its fullest, and many fans are describing them as the best Pantera tribute act in the world. Make no mistake, the technical brilliance of this band is second to none, comprising pro musicians experienced in the UK heavy metal circuit and playng in bands such as Ted Maul, Voodoo Six and The Defiled. So if you are a fan of Pantera, and possibly never had the chance to catch them live, check out a 101%Pantera show and join in the celebration of the giants of metal and the late, great Dimebag Darrel Hans Menacho is 'Vinnie Peru', our Peruvian replica of Vinnie Paul. Hans originally plyed in a Pantera tribute act in his native country before moving to the UK. Hans is sponsored by MAPEX drums and PAISTE cymbals. Lucky bastard Patrick Reily is 'Paddy Anslemo', an irish street brawler who prowls the stage with the controlled aggression of the real Anselmo. There isn't a microphone on the market strong enough to withstand a pat pounding. Psycho. Dylan Cooper is 'Rex HashBrown'. A lean mean wiry bass playing machine just like the original Pantera bass player. Dylan is also a proficient guitarist and producer. Yes even under his camo combats, he wears camo boxers. Nutter. Chris Jones is 'Hooverbag Darrel'. With performances described as 'flawless' and 'astounding', Chris has gathered a reputation as the best Dimebag impersonator on the planet. Absolutely note for note playing, but what else could you expect from a guy who practices sometimes 8 hours a day. He has appeared on Guitarmaggeddon, a Total Rock Radio show magazine, which has featured players such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and John Petrucci, as an expert in Dimebag playing style. He also plays in Voodoo Six. Cocky twat! |
